Wave RS

Wave RS
Ride The Wave!
When you become one with the element, speed turns into flow.
Every flight becomes an unforgettable moment.
The WAVE RS is a versatile parakite built for alpine flying. Its character carries the philosophy and performance mindset of the MIRAGE series, combining the agility of a classic speedwing with the range of the most advanced parakite technology.
At its core, the proven RAST technology works in harmony with a reliable reflex profile – for “rock solid” stability, maximum control, and the confidence to fully commit to your line.
The WAVE RS is easier to launch, more intuitive, more agile, and faster. With its razor-sharp 52-cell profile and intelligent Nitinol reinforcement, it is a true precision tool for maximum proximity performance. It stores energy efficiently and releases it with power and precision – fueling every maneuver with control and confidence.
Endless Playground. New Horizons.
The WAVE RS expands your speedflying range with a huge glide performance spectrum, more flow, and more adventure. It’s not just about fast descents – it’s about turning every meter of terrain into your playground.
Every mountain becomes a canvas. Steep slopes, mellow faces, shifting conditions – the WAVE adapts and opens lines that once seemed out of reach. Each run turns into a rush of pure endorphins.
At the same time, the WAVE RS opens a world of new possibilities. Its efficiency gives you maximum freedom in alpine terrain – from classic speedflying lines to fast, stylish flow runs, and playful soaring sessions.
Speed. Pure Stoke.
Experience the next level of easy-to-fly speed with the WAVE RS. A wing that blends tempo with stable, precise feedback – creating trust and bringing you into flow from the very first moment. The stoke never fades.
Innovative in Detail. Strong in Character.
Every detail has been refined – from Dyneema webbing and hybrid risers with Fidlocks, to 3D-printed brake handles and a construction that makes intuitive handling second nature. The WAVE RS embodies SWING’s pursuit of the perfect flight experience – powerful, versatile, unmistakably precise.
MIRAGE 2 RS vs. WAVE RS
The MIRAGE 2 RS represents speedflying with a downhill spirit: technical, playful, steep, and uncompromising – designed for pilots who push every contour of the mountain and take their tricks to the limit.
The WAVE RS, on the other hand, embodies the flow trail: fast, rhythmic, and even flatter lines with a focus on style and dynamics – fluid, intuitive, fast, and with a flying sensation that becomes addictive.
With the WAVE RS you don’t just choose a wing. You choose a tool that constantly opens new options – for adventures that never end.
Who is the WAVE RS for?
The WAVE RS is designed for experienced pilots who want to play with the contours of alpine terrain while relying on speed and precision. Whether Ass2Grass, on flat or steep lines, or soaring in strong wind – the WAVE RS impresses with its remarkable versatility.
The sizes 10 and 11.5 are tailored for skilled speedflying and parakite pilots who seek a reactive, fast wing with precise handling.
The sizes 13 and 15 are ideal for pilots entering the world of parakites or transitioning from larger parakites to a more compact, agile system.
Although parakites like the WAVE RS are highly stable, alpine flying close to the ground in thermal and turbulent conditions remains a high-risk activity. WAVE RS pilots should be familiar with local weather and terrain, and plan their launches with care.

FEATURES
RAST - for Maximum control
In paragliders with RAST, the canopy interior is divided into different (pressure) sections by one or more fabric panels, some with valves, running across the flight direction. This allows control over the airflow inside the canopy. The principle works similarly to a bulkhead, for example in tanks. With RAST, the air compensation flows within the paraglider canopy can be regulated through defined openings. This applies both during inflation (launch) and deflation. In the event of a pressure loss, for example caused by canopy disturbances, the relative internal pressure of the CORE section increases, while the BUFFER section absorbs the introduced energy through deformation. In addition, RAST can be used as an extra tension level for the leading and trailing edge, which has a positive effect on flight comfort. Since RAST connects the ribs across the entire profile height, the construction has a stiffening effect, allowing reinforcements and/or stiffening elements to be reduced or even completely replaced by this special design.
For the WAVE RS, RAST has been optimized for the following characteristics: The aim when positioning and adapting RAST for the WAVE RS, in combination with the reflex profile, was to achieve a comfortable and compact flight feeling with neutral pitch behavior and even greater canopy stability. The WAVE RS inflates significantly faster in light wind and shows no tendency to overshoot in strong wind.
SWING D-Lite - Intelligent semi-light construction
The WAVE RS is part of our D-LITE Series, which combines a high-quality, durable material mix with a semi-light structure. With a canopy weight starting at just 3.7 kg, it is lighter yet still robust and built for everyday use.
Premium material selection
The D-LITE Series is defined by a carefully designed material mix: highly durable fabric is used at exposed and heavily loaded areas, while lighter, high-grade fabric is applied in less stressed zones.
Reinforcements and details
Targeted reinforcements on profiles, V-stripes and tension tapes ensure a solid internal structure. The number and size of crossports are precisely tuned to the load lines of the profiles. Even the loops have been weight-optimized through differentiated construction and reinforcements adapted to their specific loads.
Practical features
The elaborate reinforcement with covered Nitinol wires on the leading edge, upper and lower sail ensures the WAVE RS can be packed easily and compactly – without compromising profile integrity. In daily use, you don’t need to treat your wing with special care.
SWING’s D-LITE construction combines low weight with high durability, guaranteeing the perfect balance of lightness and longevity – ideal for pilots who value quality and reliability.
Nitinol wires – for maximum reflex profile integrity
Nitinol is a high-strength, temperature- and corrosion-resistant shape-memory alloy. The name stands for Nickel Titanium Naval Ordnance Laboratory. SWING is among the first paraglider manufacturers to use this material, long known from medical technology, as nose reinforcement for many years.
On the WAVE RS, the elaborate Nitinol reinforcements in different diameters ensure a permanently razor-sharp leading edge and maximum profile accuracy across the entire surface. The Nitinol is fully covered to protect the fabric stretched over it from premature wear. This keeps the aerodynamic shape stable even under strong temperature fluctuations or frequent packing – without any loss of performance.
3D printed ergonomic brake handles
On the WAVE RS we use ergonomically shaped, interchangeable 3D-printed handles combined with the proven neoprene brake loops from our Speedflying/Riding line. The result: noticeably more comfort and an even more direct, controlled flight feeling with your WAVE RS.
Wingtip-Steering for more agile handling
All sizes of the WAVE RS D-LITE come with a wingtip stabilo control system that can be easily adjusted to personal preference. This system expands your control options and allows for more precise, dynamic turns by combining main and stabilo brake input in a targeted way.
This makes the WAVE RS noticeably more agile and responsive – ideal for clean barrel rolls, extra control during launch, and swooping – without deforming the reflex profile.
Simple dyneema-belt hybrid riser
The WAVE RS riser with mixer is designed as a hybrid of Dyneema lines and robust webbing. This combination provides more precise handling and greater control during launch. The A-riser is made from 12 mm webbing, while the mixer uses Dyneema with high-quality Ronstan pulleys. This makes sorting the lines before launch quick and easy at a glance.
To bring the canopy overhead even faster, the A-risers should be held in your hands during inflation.
To keep the brake handles and grips neatly in position while packing, the riser is equipped with Fidlock magnetic fasteners at the optimal glide position. In an emergency, the brakes can be clipped in there if you need free hands – without the wing dropping asymmetrically or out of control.
Important: This option is intended strictly for real emergencies. The Fidlocks are not load-rated, and if the wing is left clipped in for too long, it may start to roll.
